About a year ago, I discovered Dr. Masaru Emoto’s experiment that he did on the molecular structure of water and it’s response to words and music. He hypothesised that water could react to positive and negative thoughts, words and music and his results were quite astounding. While I didn’t have access to all of the tools that Dr. Emoto did, I found a similar experiment on YouTube that used rice…
The way how it worked was that people cooked rice and put the rice into two containers…one that was “positive” and the other that was “negative”. The impressive thing is that time and time again, the “negative” container grew mold while the “positive” container remained pristine.
I was skeptical and decided to do my own experiment. I took two mason jars and decided to make a “Love” jar and a “Hate” jar. On the “Love” jar I had the phrases like “I love you” and “I love you to the moon and back” written on it along with words like “Joy”, “Happiness” and “Gratitude”. On the “Hate” jar I had phrases like “I hate you” and “You make me sick” along with words like “Ugly”, “Awful” and “Hatred”…I even added Trump for good measure to ensure that my “Hate” jar would turn black! I instructed my roommate to also speak to the jars (which I did as well and yes…I’m sure she thought I was a little crazy).
It’s also worth mentioning that I maintained identical conditions for each of the jars from the time I purchased them, while I cooked the rice and and how they were each stored…side by side in the same spot in the kitchen.
The results blew me away.
After about a week, the “Hate” jar began to grow mold. The “Love” jar however was mold free. Now, going on two weeks, I can proudly say that the “Hate” jar continued to grow mold while the “Love” jar remained mold free….two weeks and not a spot of mold!
This brings me to the topic of how much power our thoughts and words have…
I read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne slmost a decade ago and have been watching the movie (it’s on Netflix for any of you that would like to watch it). It’s based on the law of attraction which essentially claims that one’s thoughts can change a persons life.
My little rice experiment pretty much confirmed what The Secret says which is why I practice doing affirmations and visualization everyday. When I first started doing them, I was doubtful. However, over time the things that I desired came into my life.
Was it like magic where I didn’t have to lift a finger and just have my wishes granted? Of course not…but, it’s like that old saying by Ghandi: “Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny”.
